Homes in Sterling Ranch are popular right now. With lots of walking trails, coveted mountain views, and close proximity to Denver, this new neighborhood is bursting with families and new build homes. We've had the pleasure of working with multiple clients in this area, and wanted to feature one of our favorite projects so far.

The clients really wanted low-water plants with a small grass yard for their pug puppy to run around in and a wood-burning fireplace for wonderful summer nights.
Because their home backs up to an open space, with almost unobstructed views of the front range, we positioned the paver patio and wood-burning fire pit in the Western-most corner of the backyard, to fully take advantage of those beautiful, pristine views.

The small grass yard is an easy-to-maintain size their puppy will love, and one that will still work for yard games, without hogging a ton of water each summer.

To create privacy along the Western fence from our client's future neighbors, we planted tall spruces, that will gradually grow and fill in, creating a natural sight and sound barrier for backyard privacy.
The actual border of the yard is completed with combination sized gravel rock, a river rock features, small flower bed, and drought-tolerant grasses and flowers for color, depth, and dimension along their yard's border, without creating too much extra maintenance.

We've said it before and we will say it again: landscape lighting is a game changer for any yard!

These fire poker plants are a wonderful option for bold color and tall floral details for Colorado homes!

The patio itself has pavers set in concrete, with gapping filled with gravel stone so it's sturdy, unlikely to move, modern, and beautiful. The fire pit is easily filled with wood and kindling for cozy nights around the fire pit swapping stories.

This was such a fun project and we can't wait to see more adventure and fun for our clients in this beautiful space!
